Status as of April 2009

Montville has allocated Township property at 7 Church Lane for the animal Shelter. At the township meeting on 1/27 the township committee voted to purchase a 40 ft x55ft ( 2200sq ft). The deposit has been sent. The building will be held a the manufacuter until the site is ready. 

Since the footprint of the new building is a bit different the floor plan will need to change.  A concept drawing has been done by Gail and that will be provided to the architect who will work with the team to create a floor plan for the new space.  

An architect has been hired and has begun the design of the new floor plan.

The Township Administrator is working with the towns we support to obtain commitments for longer term service agreements and also help with the capital funding for this project. 

We are still waiting for the LOI from the DEP before work can begin.

We have a preliminary construction costs and materials list based on the one line floor plan. Once we have a bit more information we will be working to find in kind donations for materials and also volunteers who may want to help with this project.

MPP has pledged 40k toward this project base on the funds that we have raised so far.. As we raise funds through events and donations from individuals, community groups and corporations this pledge will grow. 

In addition to the money we have raised toward the capital campaign, we have received a grant to put toward the kennel area.   We are waiting to hear on several other grants.
